Lifters

The Lifters program will consist of older campers ranging from completed 6th grade through completed 8th grade.  Our desire is for young teenagers to become...

Spiritual

When pre-teens focus more on helping others, they become responsible and dependable youngsters.  When they learn how to lead out, they grow into young adults who care.  When given a strong foundation for living, they find meaning and purpose in life.  Whether they say it or not, teens have a need to be a part of something that matters.  They want goals.  They want growth.  They can be Lifters.

Our Camp Theme

This summer's theme is "Jesus is my Hero!"  John 14:6 says, "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life.'"  Campers will focus on the awesome ways that Jesus is the ultimate hero in life.  The Lifters will take this a step further to discover aspects of Jesus' own life and ministry and the ways that he loved and served people.  This older group of campers will learn more about becoming a leader through being a servant.

Activities

The Lifters will take part in their own Bible story time, as well as, learn how to implement other activities into Bible story lessons, in order to facilitate teaching skills.  This group will also lead out during recreation time for the younger groups of campers.  Lifters will prepare and distribute snack to the younger campers.  Throughout the summer, other areas of focus will be emphasized such as career development and interests and drug and alcohol prevention.  On special occasions, guest speakers and ministers will be brought in to further encourage learning and insight.

Applying to become a Lifter

A summer camp application must be submitted.  In addition, young teens desiring to become a Lifter must submit a resume.  This resume should include an introduction with a statement of purpose describing the individual's desire to become a Lifter.  Also included:  education, training, and other extra-curricular activities.
